IWC Portofino Automatic Winding Watch – Ref. 4581

September 29th, 2014, Watch7Wonder, as the top event in the watch industry, was held in Hongkong exhibition center. In the four-day exhibition, top watches from the world gathered together and made up a grand visual feast. Among so many brands, IWC, as one of famous brands from Swiss, not only brought its classic watches, but also has novelties for us. And here what we are going to introduce is the IWC Portofino series with its serial number: 4581.

New Portofino’s dial has simple but graceful design: the time indexes is made of rose-gold columns. At 6 and 12 o’clock lie the Roman number. The three hands inherited classic design from the old Portofino and they are fixed on the center of the dial. With time flying, it jumps forward. IWC’s typical logo is branded on 12 o’clock, while an date aperture is set on 3 o’clock for the convenience of reading time.

Strap of the IW4581 is made of alligator skin and it is specially designed by Satoni, one pretty famous leather shoes producer from Italy. Santoni’s strap is really great and can be regarded as the top work in this field. The secret why the strap is so distinctive is the texture and color of the leather. During the complicated processing procedure, every strap is bestowed with an antic but classic design, and the texture is pretty outstanding. In order to presenting multiple colors, the surface of the leather are polished for many times until the ideal texture and hues come to being. Besides, traditional clip-huckle is made of 18 k rose gold and IWC’s logo is visible on the outside of the buckle. Finally, the case back is completely sealed. Although we could not appreciate the delicate inner structure, we can feel IWC’s skills in processing every small detail, particularly the case. exquisite polishing, superb branding, delicate processing reflect IWC’s philosophy on making watches.
